Author and USA Today contributor Michelle Monkou reviewed Forces of Nature  on the Happy Ever After Blog. Here's what Monkou says about Forces of Nature:  Forces of Nature comes with a lot of sizzle, pop and snap right out of the starting gate between the heroine, Crystal, and the hero, Douglas. They spoke to me — loud and proud. She also reviews After Dawn by Francis Ray and Haven Creek by Rochelle Alers .

Meet Synithia Williams, author of You Can't Plan Love

Image
Debut romance author Synithia Williams is building a huge buzz around her novel, You Can't Plan Love. She was featured in USA Today and deservedly so. Williams crafted a sexy and page turning read. 1.               How did you come up with the story of You Can’t Plan Love ? Nothing specific lead me to this story. It came from one of the typical “what if” moments we writer’s have. What if a woman hurt in the past tried to plan her love life. I don’t think love is something that can be planned, and if more people stopped planning and just went with things I think happiness will follow. 2.               Have you always wanted to write romance? Yes! I’ve read romance since I was a teen. I hand wrote my first two romance novels in high school. After that real life kicked in and writing was a hobby that I occasionally returned to. What was Chris Chase of USA Today thinking? This weekend a "story" about quarterback Michael Vick appeared on the USA Today web site showing a picture the Philadelphia Eagle posted of him and his daughter at the table. In the picture, there is a Milk Bone box. Does this mean Vick has a dog? A picture posted to Vick's Twitter account (Photo: Crossing Broad via @MikeVick) OMG. The world has come to an end. Unless somebody in Michael Vick's house has an interesting palate, it appears the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback is back in the dog-owning business. Vick posted a Twitter picture Thursday night of himself and his daughter hard at work at the kitchen table. Dad was looking at game film on an iPad. Daughter appears to be doing some homework. And sitting on the table, in plain view, is a box of opened Milk-Bone dog biscuits. (It's next to a pink folder with puppies on it.) It's not hard to connect the dots from there. The picture was q...

National Press!! Michelle Monkou recommends Recipe For Desire

Image
I've been in USA Today once. I wrote a letter to the editor back in the 90s. And I held on to the paper until two years ago. (No, I'm not a hoarder!) I'm in USA Today again and just like 15-year-old Cheris, I'm super excited! Michelle Monkou , author and USA Today Happy Ever After reporter reviewed Recipe For Desire. Cheris Hodges ' Recipe for Desire mixes humor, romance and delicious-sounding foods to stir the romance book appetite. This story of opposites attracting has a healthy dose of clashes, making up, and falling head over heels in love. Bad-girl Marie Charles goes down hard, but you can't count her out. She's a likable character with much passion and spunk and dusts herself off to try again. Meanwhile, Devon Harris is a master in the kitchen as a chef and a master as a romantic hero who must conduct his own soul searching. Recipe for Desire chronicles two characters' journeys who are immersed in his and her flaws and weakness...
